The wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscillia Otti, has called on residents of the state to embrace the spirit of Christmas by celebrating with love, hope and generosity, all to the glory of God.
She made the appeal in Umuahia on Tuesday while hosting a Christmas party for children, describing the gathering as a joyful moment and expressing her delight at spending time with them.
“Today, we have come together to promote inclusiveness and to share love, kindness and joy with the little angels of our state,” Mrs. Otti said.
Addressing the children, the First Lady reminded them of their worth and potential. “You are loved, you are valued, and you are the future leaders of Abia State. Your dreams are valid and your potential knows no limits. Never allow anyone to dim your light. Keep shining, keep dreaming, and always believe that you can achieve greatness,” she encouraged.
She also took time to appreciate parents, caregivers and guardians for their sacrifices, noting that their love, care and dedication play a vital role in shaping the lives of the children.
Mrs. Otti further expressed gratitude to her husband, Governor Alex Otti, for his strong commitment to the welfare, development and well-being of children and the people of Abia State.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Blessing Felix, described the celebration as heartwarming and commended the First Lady for hosting the children. In the same vein, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Ogechi Aguama, advised the children to always show respect to elders.
Responding on behalf of the children, Chibuike Adindu thanked Mrs. Otti for the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with her, describing the event as memorable and enjoyable.
