The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has debunked reports claiming the party is embroiled in leadership crises at both national and state levels. Senator Abubakar Umar Tutare, a member of the party’s Board of Trustees, described the allegations as baseless and the work of political detractors.
Speaking at the Taraba State ADC Secretariat in Jalingo, Tutare stated that the party’s leadership was unaware of any internal conflict, insisting that the rumours were fabricated by “mischief makers who have nothing meaningful to contribute to Nigeria’s development.”
“I am not aware of any leadership tussle in ADC, and I have not seen any. It’s a rumour, people are telling you lies. Whatever thing that APC will do to destroy ADC will fail,” he said.
He emphasised that the ADC is composed of experienced individuals committed to repositioning Nigeria and restoring hope to citizens. Tutare criticised the ruling APC, accusing it of failing to serve the interests of ordinary Nigerians and calling on citizens to vote the government out.
Addressing concerns about Nigeria drifting toward a one-party state, he accused the ruling party of attempting to dominate the political landscape but vowed that the ADC would challenge and defeat them in the upcoming general elections.
“We will have 18 members of the House of Assembly in Taraba State. ADC is fully prepared for the fight,” he asserted.
Tutare explained that he was in Jalingo to inspect preparations for the unveiling of the new ADC State Secretariat, stressing the importance of ensuring that all arrangements were properly made.
