Pat Akpabio, sister-in-law to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has made explosive allegations against him, accusing the former Akwa Ibom governor of being connected to multiple unresolved assassinations during and after his time in office.
In a viral Facebook video, Pat, a pastor and entrepreneur, unleashed a scathing attack on the Senate President:
“For all the people you (Akpabio) have killed when you were governor of Akwa Ibom and those killed now that you are in the Senate, it will never be well with you.”
Pat is married to Akpabio’s brother, Ibanga Akpabio, who reportedly introduced the Senate President to Akwa Ibom politics in the late 1990s.
She claims Ibanga brought Godswill Akpabio from Lagos to Uyo and recommended him for a commissioner position under then-Governor Victor Attah, the starting point of Akpabio’s political career.
The video is the latest in an ongoing family battle. Pat has repeatedly criticized Akpabio in recent months, accusing him of betraying close allies like former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Umana Okon Umana, ex-APC governorship candidates Nsima Ekere and Akan Udofia, and former YPP candidate Bassey Albert.
She claims Akpabio has a habit of abandoning people who helped him rise to power, and warned that his political downfall is coming.
“When you finish, go home. This is your quit notice,” she said. “Very soon, Nigerians will know who you truly are.”
Pat alleged that Akpabio falsely accused her husband of murder and theft after losing the 2019 senatorial election, claiming Ibanga was responsible for killing one of his associates and stealing his money.
She also said she supported Akpabio wholeheartedly in 2019 without asking for anything in return.
“I stood by you in 2019 when people wrote all sorts of things against you. Did I collect one kobo from you? Today, you have the audacity to say you made me?” she said.
Pat also accused the Senate President of neglecting his hometown, Ukana Ikot Ntuen, which she said has been without electricity for weeks despite his powerful federal position.
Wrapping up her outburst, Pat challenged Akpabio to respond publicly, warning that she has more damaging information about his alleged misconduct, abuse of office, and personal scandals.
She also called on President Bola Tinubu to be careful around Akpabio, calling him “a very wicked man.”
