APC Chieftain Eze Blasts Tinubu’s Loyalists Over Attacks on Opposition Leaders

APC

‍One of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has criticized recent verbal attacks directed at key opposition leaders by President Bola Tinubu’s loyalists as “infantile and politically misguided.”

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Eze described the vilification campaign against past President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Transport Minister Chibuike Amaechi, and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi as a “misadventure” that would fail.

He claimed the Presidency was deliberately going out of its way to besmirch the reputation of Atiku ahead of 2027 elections, saying that such actions are indicative of “ignorance of who Atiku is in Africa.”

“Even President Bola Tinubu knows his people are spreading false lies against a man whom he himself once described as a true Nigerian democrat and a pillar of democracy in Africa,” Eze said.

He also called to question the moral basis of the Presidency, calling Tinubu himself a sectional politician.

“If, for vainglorious political reasons, the Presidency seeks to label Atiku  one of Nigeria’s finest politicians and a dyed-in-the-wool nationalist a sectional leader, what then happens to Tinubu who has earned himself the reputation of Nigeria’s number one ethnic bigot and nepotistic president?” he asked.

Eze maintained that most Nigerians would be able to distinguish between both men, noting that “trying to twist the truth is like the pot calling the kettle black.”

He also added that leaders like Jonathan, Amaechi, and Obi were preoccupied with constituting a strong front to salvage the economy of the nation, restore infrastructure, fight corruption, and restore confidence in governance by the people  aims he is certain would be achieved with a new government in 2027.
