Combined troops of the Nigerian Army, under the various operations across the country, have achieved major successes: neutralizing two terrorists, rescuing 17 kidnapped victims, and arresting 20 suspects in coordinating missions.
According to the military sources, the intelligence-led operations also led to the discovery and destruction of illegal refining sites in the South-South region.
In Borno State, troops of the 192 Battalion, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), engaged Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah (JAS) fighters in Hudugum Village, Gwoza LGA, killing two insurgents. Three terrorists, including Fannami Ari (a.k.a Abu Dujana) and Hussaini Hassan Modu (a.k.a Abu Yusuf), surrendered to troops in Kukawa and Damboa LGAs.
In Zamfara State, the troops of 1 Brigade foiled two kidnap attempts along the Magami–Jan Gemi and Kucheri–Bilbis axes, and thus rescued 11 kidnapped victims who have since been reunited with their families.
Meanwhile, in the North-Central zone, troops of Operations Enduring Peace and Whirl Stroke arrested 15 suspects linked to cultism, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and communal clashes across Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, and Kaduna States, while rescuing four kidnap victims.
In the South-South, troops dismantled two illegal oil refining camps in Biseni, Bayelsa State, and intercepted 62 sacks of stolen crude oil estimated at over 3,000 litres in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State.
