Arne Slot Dismisses Squad Depth Concerns, Says He’s “Completely Happy” with Liverpool Team

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has clarified his recent comments regarding squad depth and insists that he is “completely happy” with what was at his disposal after their elimination in the Carabao Cup.

The Reds were eliminated from the competition on Wednesday following a 3-0 home loss to Crystal Palace, where Slot fielded a youthful side with three teenage starters and five more on the bench. The heavy rotation came just days after a 3-2 league defeat to Brentford, Liverpool’s fourth straight loss in the Premier League.

After the match, Slot had hinted that his selection might “give a little bit of insight” into the limited depth of his squad compared to rivals such as Manchester City and Chelsea, who both made major changes yet advanced in the competition.

However, ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa, the Dutch coach downplayed any concerns, reaffirming his satisfaction with the team. “I’m completely happy with my squad,” he said, signalling confidence in his players to bounce back.
