Bishop Oyedepo Condemns Denial of Violence in Nigeria, Demands Accountability

Bishop David Oyedepo has condemned those who dismiss reports of systematic violence against communities and churches across Nigeria, questioning how anyone could ignore the mounting evidence of brutal attacks.

The prominent church leader spoke out following last week’s attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) congregation, expressing disbelief that some people continue to downplay the severity of the violence plaguing parts of the country.

The bishop accused those making such denials of deliberately misleading Nigerians and distorting the truth despite documented evidence of repeated attacks on rural communities and places of worship.

Describing such misinformation as harmful to the nation, Bishop Oyedepo called for divine intervention against what he termed “professional liars,” saying their actions only deepen Nigeria’s security challenges.

His remarks reflect growing frustration among Nigerians over continued attacks on communities and worship centers, with many calling for greater transparency, accountability, and urgent government action to address the crisis.

Speaking directly about the denials, Bishop Oyedepo said:

“You say there’s no genocide? So what is genocide? Do you know grammar? The case is already on record, on genocide, and you say there’s no genocide?

Are you sleeping? What happened last week in that CAC church, is that genocide or genotype?

“You find a company of liars hanging around everywhere as if others are dummies. The Holy Ghost curses liars. Holy Ghost, come down and inflict curses on those lying against the truth.”

The statement comes amid heightened concerns about security in Nigeria, particularly in regions experiencing frequent attacks on civilians and religious gatherings.
