BLord Reveals He Hired Teenage Hacker Who Stole $1.2 Million From His App

Crypto entrepreneur BLord has sparked debate after revealing how he responded to a teenage hacker who broke into one of his apps early in his career.

Speaking at SMFest Awka 2025, BLord shared that the hacker was “a very small boy” who managed to breach his platform’s security.

Instead of pressing charges, he made an unusual choice: he hired the teenager to work for him.

“I lost $1.2 million to hackers on one of my apps. I caught one of the hackers, and instead of handing him over to the police, I employed him to work for me,” he told the audience.

The story got loud reactions at the event, with many praising it as a smart business move, similar to how international companies recruit ethical hackers to test their security systems.

But not everyone is buying it.

Some skeptics pointed to BLord’s past controversies, including EFCC investigations and allegations around crypto dealings, which he has consistently denied.

To them, the story feels like an attempt to clean up his image.

Others celebrated the decision as bold leadership and a testament to Nigeria’s young tech talent going unrecognized.

“Hiring the hacker instead of arresting him? That’s genius,” one person commented.

Another responded: “Hmm… with BLord’s history, I don’t know what to believe again.”
