The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has approved the commencement of online application by legal practitioners who seek to be commissioned as Notaries Public of Nigeria.
The move, according to the Supreme Court’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Dr. Festus Akande, is aimed at bringing modernization to the process, efficiency, and enhancing accessibility within the legal fraternity.
“This historic ruling affirms the judiciary’s resolute commitment to leveraging digital innovation, enhancing efficiency, and enhancing greater accessibility within the legal community,” read the statement.
With the erstwhile torturous paper-based process, the process of appointments is now settled online via an appropriate portal to clear administrative bottlenecks and facilitate faster perusal.
Potential and suitable legal practitioners can now submit their applications online via the official site at https://notary.gov.ng which has been established to provide a smooth, hassle-free experience.
