Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again slashed the ex-depot price of petrol, reducing it from N828 to N699 per litre. This latest cut N129 off the previous rate marks a 15.58% drop and became effective on December 11, 2025. It is also the 20th time the refinery has adjusted petrol prices this year.
Fresh data from Petroleumprice.ng confirmed the new pricing, showing the refinery’s continued effort to ease fuel costs for Nigerians.
The refinery’s chairman, Aliko Dangote, had earlier promised that prices would keep dropping as production ramps up and competition with imported fuel increases. After meeting with President Bola Tinubu on December 6, he said Nigerians should expect more reductions.
“Prices are going down,” Dangote said. “We have to compete with imports. Smuggling has reduced, though not completely, because fuel in Nigeria is still much cheaper than in neighbouring countries.”
The refinery says the ongoing reductions are aimed at stabilising supply, discouraging smuggling, and boosting public confidence in fuel refined locally.
