Two diaspora groups of Nigerians, the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) and the African Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (ADDIS), said they will immortalize former President Olusegun Obasanjo with the launch of the Olusegun Obasanjo Conflict Resolution Centre (OOCRC) and a new book documenting his role in peacebuilding and diplomacy.
The Executive of NDDIS and ADDIS, Prince Bimbo Roberts Folayan, disclosed this at a press conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to Folayan, the centre, modeled after London’s Chatham House, would be a peace research, dialogue, and mediation centre that combines human intelligence and artificial intelligence in tackling security and conflict matters in Nigeria and West Africa.
He went on to say that the 380-page book, “The Conflict Resolution Strategies of President Olusegun Obasanjo,” documents Obasanjo’s exceptional efforts at promoting peace initiatives in Africa.
The twinning event the official launch of the book and the inauguration of the OOCRC will be held on November 27, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, and is likely to be hosted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to African leaders, statesmen, and foremost political and business leaders.
We gather to honor one of Africa’s greatest statesmen, President Olusegun Obasanjo, whose visionary leadership and commitment to peace have changed Nigeria and encouraged stability across the continent,” Folayan remarked.
He indicated that they are compiling the project in partnership with the Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute and the African Leadership Foundation, as part of an initiative to immortalize Obasanjo’s indelible mark on governance and diplomacy in Africa.
