The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Abdulazeez Gbadebo, station manager of Emadeb Energy Service Limited in Kaduna, over allegations he siphoned ₦500 million from the company.
According to the EFCC’s Kaduna office, Gbadebo’s arrest came after the fuel station conducted an external audit that uncovered massive irregularities.
The audit reportedly revealed he manipulated fuel pump meters, sold petrol in bulk to customers, and pocketed the money by diverting it into his personal bank accounts.
The commission said its investigation confirmed that Gbadebo sold both petrol and diesel to various buyers but ensured payments went directly to him instead of the company.
During the operation, EFCC operatives recovered several high-value assets linked to the suspect, including:
- An ash-colored Mercedes Benz
-
An ash-colored Mini Cooper
-
A green Mini Cooper
-
A white Mercedes Benz GLK
-
A certificate of occupancy and authorization letter from Kaduna Geographic Information System (KADGIS)
-
A fully detached three-bedroom bungalow
-
Three additional landed properties
The anti-graft agency said Gbadebo will be charged in court once investigations wrap up.
