Falz Demands Tinubu’s Resignation After Gunmen Abduct Over 100 Students in Niger State

Rapper and activist Falz has called for President Bola Tinubu to step down after armed bandits kidnapped more than 100 students from a school in Niger State.

Gunmen raided St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area, early Friday morning, abducting students and staff members.

The Niger State Police confirmed that security forces are now combing nearby forests in search of the victims.

State authorities also revealed that the school had reopened without official clearance, despite warnings issued to institutions in high-risk areas.

The musician didn’t hold back in his criticism of the president’s handling of Nigeria’s security crisis.

“YOU HAVE FAILED WOEFULLY @officialABAT. TENDER YOUR RESIGNATION NOW!” Falz wrote on social media, expressing frustration shared by many Nigerians over the government’s inability to stop kidnappings targeting schools.

The kidnapping has triggered anger online, with many questioning how schools have become soft targets for bandits.

“Sir, with all due respect, resignation is too merciful. People need to be in prison for criminal negligence.

How do you sleep when schools are now kidnapping farms?” one user, @Donxab, wrote in response to Falz.

Another commenter, @Elow_vin, asked: “If he resigns, will his whole cabinet go too? They all need to leave because what is happening in this country is really messy.”

Just days earlier, 25 students were kidnapped in Kebbi State, while Kwara State shut down over 50 schools following bandit attacks on nearby communities.

The Federal Government has since ordered the closure of 41 unity schools across northern Nigeria as security agencies work to prevent further incidents.
