Sokoto State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, has presented cheques for N21.3 million to 30 families of police officers who were killed during active service or were injured while carrying out their duties.

The financial assistance, presented under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme, is an extension of concerted effort to pay homage and help families of officers who made the supreme sacrifice while carrying out their official duties.

CP Musa also commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of officers and their families as being caring and inspirational leadership.

He declared that the unflinching endorsement of the IGP has enhanced the morale of the Force, encouraged performance, and brought relief to many families. “His kindness and generosity have brought untold joy and relief to those left behind. We pray God continues to guide and bless him,” Musa further stated.

The Commissioner urged the beneficiaries to invest the funds wisely into business activities that would sustain their families and make their future economically secure.

On behalf of the recipients, Abdulrahman Bello, whose father was one of the deceased officers, expressed appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries to the IGP. According to him, the money would go a long way in their lives and assured that it would be used judiciously.
