The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that Lieutenant Ahmed Yerima, the naval officer who recently clashed with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over a land dispute in Abuja, survived an assassination attempt.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said no such incident was reported or recorded anywhere within the FCT. She described the circulating claims as false and urged the public not to spread unverified information capable of creating unnecessary panic.
For public safety, the Command advised residents to remain alert and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police division. Adeh also provided emergency contacts — 08032003913 and 08068587311 — for swift response from authorities.
