Four former members of Operation Udo-ga-achi, a local security outfit in Anambra State, have been charged in court for allegedly assaulting a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Jennifer Elohor.

The accused, Emmanuel Samson (29), Jude Obasi (43), Michael Ndudirim (28), and Ezinwanne Nweke (27), appeared before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka on Thursday to face seven charges filed by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu.

They’re facing charges including conspiracy to commit felony, indecent assault, physical harm, unlawful intimidation, and stripping of the victim.

The incident allegedly happened in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, in July 2025.

Court documents obtained by Punch show the defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Presiding Chief Magistrate U.E. Onochie granted them bail after their lawyers applied, and adjourned the case to January 14, 2026, for a full hearing.

The case caused widespread anger after a video went viral showing armed operatives storming a corps member’s lodge, beating and stripping the victim.

The Anambra State Government responded by dismissing eight personnel connected to the assault, covering the victim’s medical bills, replacing her damaged belongings, and issuing a public apology to Jennifer’s family and the NYSC.

Police have promised to pursue justice fully.
