The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has commended the Nigeria Police Force for the prompt and coordinated investigation that resulted in the recoveries of dismembered human remains suspected to be those of a missing female officer, SRC OO Lasisi (PIN C-06239). The remains were recovered by the Osun State Police Command from a river near Iwoye-Ijesa on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The police, in a statement signed by FRSC spokesperson Olusegun Ogungbemide, formally notified the Osun State Sector Commander early on Tuesday, after which the commander met with the state’s Commissioner of Police for a detailed briefing.
Police investigations revealed that through extended surveillance, intelligence gathering, and tracking of phones, a herbalist in Iloko-Ijesa who had earlier fled the scene was arrested. In interrogation, the suspect claimed the officer was deceived, murdered, and dismembered by a man identified as “Victor” and other accomplices who are still on the run and then disposed of her remains.
Victor was said to be in a romantic relationship with the officer and had allegedly attempted to mislead the investigators by abandoning his car along the Gbongan–Ibadan expressway to give the impression of a kidnapping. The herbalist further said Victor took the missing child from his residence, though the child’s whereabouts remain unknown.
The recovered body parts were deposited at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital mortuary, while the police have asked for an autopsy and DNA analysis to confirm identity. The Corps has also reached out to the deceased officer’s husband, who is resident in the United States of America, to facilitate the forensic process.
He described the incident as heartbreaking, and extended condolences to the family, praying for the safe recovery of the child. He further acknowledged the police’s effort and assured the public that collaboration was ongoing to ensure justice. FRSC and the Nigeria Police Force called on members of the public with useful information to reach the Osun State Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit or FRSC Osun Sector Command.
