Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray contract does not contain a release clause.
Osimhen was loaned out to Galatasaray last season before signing for the club this summer on a €75 million transfer from Napoli, bringing an end to his loan stay at the Italian club.
With rumors that his new deal came with an exit clause, Özbek set the record straight, “Osimhen’s contract doesn’t have an exit clause. He is a very successful player and will play for Galatasaray for many years.”
The president of the club also defended the large transfer fee, stating, “It can be said that the amount that we transferred was high, but nowadays the cost of football public service is low, and the value of the player is a lot higher.”
He also assured that the club is always honest and upholds all the rules of football, additionally reporting, “Each footballer’s contract we sign is very clear, as per TFF and UEFA regulations. Our values and our path to success will be the same.”
