APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has called for the immediate sacking of a soldier who stopped FCT Minister Nyesom Wike from accessing a disputed property in Abuja.
The incident happened during an inspection by Wike and FCTA officials.
The soldier, reportedly following orders, blocked the minister’s entry, leading to a confrontation that was captured on video and has since gone viral.
Igbokwe criticized the soldier’s actions on his Facebook page, calling it insubordination. He questioned who was supporting the officer and said such behavior should not be allowed.
“Who is this man in uniform? Of what meat is he fed? Who is beating the drum for him? This is unacceptable. His uniform has to be removed,” Igbokwe wrote.
He identified the soldier as Lt. Yerima and accused him of disrespecting the FCT Minister, demanding his removal from service.
The post has divided Nigerians online. Some agree with Igbokwe’s position, while others argue the soldier was simply doing his job according to the law.
