The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, has strongly condemned the recent attacks and kidnappings of school children in Niger State, describing such as deliberate attempts by mischief makers to undermine the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The latest school abduction in Niger happened just days after 25 schoolgirls were kidnapped in Kebbi State and shortly after terrorists invaded a Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, abducting several worshippers and killing others.
Karimi also called on Nigerians to have confidence in the government’s efforts, reiterating that President Tinubu was fully committed to protecting the life and property of the citizens.
He further urged state governments to establish Community Security Agencies as first-line defense mechanisms for supporting federal security operations.
The senator reiterated the need for citizens to actively participate in securing their communities through the sharing of intelligence, besides cooperating with security forces. He states that such rising attacks on schools and vulnerable communities reflect a broader resurgence of insecurity in the country, but he says the perpetrators will not succeed with their plans.
