Kefas Partners Origin Tech, Stanbic IBTC to Boost Agriculture and Rural Development in Taraba

Governor Kefas Taraba state

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has launched a strategic partnership with Origin Tech Group and Stanbic IBTC Bank to tap into the huge agricultural potential of the state as well as create sustainable opportunities for farmers.

Speaking while hosting delegations of both organisations at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, Governor Kefas said the collaboration would drive the newly launched Taraba Accelerated Agriculture and Rural Development Scheme (TAARDS) a program that seeks to enhance food production, provide employment opportunities, and develop the rural areas in the state.

In his words, the program will open up rural areas through mass road construction and mechanized farming, positioning Taraba as the hub of new age agriculture for Nigeria’s North East.

He reiterated his government’s resolve to public-private partnership and partnering towards lines of action that play into his vision of agriculture sector development and for empowering local farmers at all levels in all of the local government councils.

Stanbic IBTC Bank Chief Executive Officer, Wole Adeniyi, also spoke in favor of Taraba’s development plan, unveiling plans to adopt and renovate a school in the state capital under its social responsibility initiative.

Furthermore, Origin Tech Group Chairman, Samuel Joseph Samuel, also promised the bank of collaboration on the Adopt-A-School Project and reaffirmed the private sector’s interest in promoting education and community development in Taraba.

The visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 5, 2025, in Lagos between the Taraba State Government and Origin Tech Group with Stanbic IBTC Bank as the financial partner for the intensification of negotiations and implementation of projects.
