Nigerian comedian Lasisi Elenu (real name Nosa Afolabi) isn’t having it after someone on social media confused him with a Cameroonian drummer who’s been going viral.
The whole thing started when an X user named Filmex posted side-by-side photos of Lasisi and the drummer, suggesting they were the same person at different stages of life.
The post was meant to be motivational, basically saying “look how far he’s come, don’t give up on your dreams”, but there was one problem: they’re two completely different people.
The tweet blew up, and people couldn’t stop laughing at the mix-up. Eventually, Lasisi saw it after being tagged repeatedly.
The comedian wasn’t about to let this slide quietly. He fired back with a tweet that had people in stitches: “Maaaaaaaa no just catch your papa, maaaa no jus.”
Fans loved his playful but slightly annoyed response. Some joined in on the joke while others felt bad that he’d been mistaken for someone else.
So who’s the actual guy in the photo? His name is Ela Oyono Mathieu, a talented Cameroonian drummer who’s been making waves online with his electric performances and unique style.
Mathieu has been getting love across Africa for his energetic stage presence and drumming skills.
One X account called him “Cameroon’s best animator, currently going viral for his amazing drumming skills and style.”
