NDLEA Arrests Notorious Drug Kingpin ‘Chisco Bee’, Seizes Over 1.7 Tonnes of Cannabis in Lagos

Operatives of the NDLEA Special Operations Unit have arrested a wanted drug kingpin, Francis Chijioke Ibemesi, popularly known as Chisco Bee, after weeks of coordinated intelligence gathering and surveillance.

The suspect, a 42-year-old businessman and hotelier, was apprehended in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his Daisy Garden Hotel on Agbeke Street, Ago Palace Way, Isolo, Lagos. He is the MD/CEO of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig. Ltd.

In a statement on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said operatives subsequently searched his warehouse at Pius Ezeobi Street, Isolo, where they recovered 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of Loud a potent strain of cannabis weighing a total of 1,762.8kg. Cash seized at the point of arrest included $11,600, £2,000, €2,200, and 50 Canadian dollars.

In a related operation, NDLEA operatives foiled an attempt by a drug syndicate at Orita-Apeje in the Araromi-Okeodo Forest Reserve, Ife South LGA, Osun State, to distribute 11,135kg of processed skunk after days of surveillance. Two trucks Volvo WWR 29 XA and Mercedes AWK 713 YZ were seized, and seven suspects arrested: Lucky Abiodun, Julius Amos, Victor Ngbikili, Sunday Oduegwu, Ibrahim Akanni, Eze Godstime, and Fred Ifeanyichukwu.

Babafemi further revealed that operatives recovered 1,902.1kg of skunk in various operations across Edo State; these included 184.1kg along a bush path in Igbanke, 672kg from Utese Forest in Ovia North East, and 494kg from a Mercedes Benz on the Benin-Akure road where Felix Edah, 45, was arrested. Another suspect, Lucky Abagha, 51, was apprehended as he travelled with 552kg in another Mercedes vehicle.

On the Ijebu-Ode expressway in Ogun State, four suspects Micheal Okoh, Offor Agada, Raphael Nkemjika, and Nwabueze Franklin were apprehended with 68kg of skunk and 3.15kg of methamphetamine.

Other arrests include: Danjuma Tukura, 50, with 172kg of skunk in Ardo Kola LGA, Taraba State; and Wisdom Titus, 24, with 84kg in Takum, Taraba.

The operatives in Adamawa, while conducting a search at Aliyu Mustapha International Airport, Yola, recovered 396,000 capsules of tramadol from Ahmed Isyaku Nda, 50. Meanwhile, 785 kilograms of skunk were evacuated from a warehouse of fleeing drug dealer in Maraba, Karu LGA of Nasarawa State.p

Two suspects, Jamiu Kunle Kardoso and Oriyomi Waliu, were arrested in the Surulere area, Lagos, with 130 pouches of Canadian Loud weighing 65.15kg, while Taofeek Moraina was arrested in the Otto–Oyingbo area with 282 blocks of Ghana Loud weighing 141kg. NDLEA officers also intercepted a truck on the Ilorin–Jebba Expressway in Kwara State, loaded with 197 blocks of skunk weighing 78.565kg and 155 cartons of rubber solution. The driver, Umar Yakubu, was taken into custody. A commercial bus was intercepted on Wednesday, November 12, at Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, with 20 blocks of skunk concealed inside a 50-litre jerry can. Its driver, Ibrahim Bello, was arrested.
