Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered a social media-based drug distribution network disguising illicit substances as imported Christmas cookies and snacks in the Lekki area of Lagos. The agency arrested two alleged ringleaders after raiding their hideout and dismantling the operation.

According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the syndicate, led by Deji Adesanya and Olubiyi Majekodunmi, imported consignments of Canadian Loud a potent strain of cannabis and a variety of colourful designer sachets branded with cookie and snack labels. These were used to package the drugs in small retail quantities for distribution through a WhatsApp platform.

Acting on credible intelligence, NDLEA operatives raided an apartment on Ojulari Street, Ikate, Lekki, on Saturday, 22 November 2025, where they recovered a large stash of the designer packaging and 5kg of Loud.
