NDLEA Storms Lagos Nightclub, Arrests Over 100 at Drug Party; Seizes UK-Bound Cocaine and Meth Shipments

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) agents raided Proxy Night Club at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, in the wee hours of Sunday, October 26, where a drug party was in progress.

During the process, more than 100 suspects including club owner and Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike  were arrested and rounded up for screening.

NDLEA’s spokesperson Femi Babafemi revealed that the raid followed a credible intelligence on the drug party. According to him, operatives gained entry into the club at 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, and brought the party to an end at 3 a.m. on Sunday in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures. Cartons of marijuana and other illicit drugs, including loud and laughing gas, were reportedly seized from suspects and the store room of the club.

In a related development, NDLEA agents intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine hidden inside cocoa butter formula body cream packages bound for London at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja. The 3.6-kilogram consignment was intercepted on October 14, 2025, in a search of cargo labeled as personal effects to the UK on Air Peace.

Three suspects cargo agent Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, female health worker Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, and CEO of a travel agency Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi were arrested in sequel operations between October 14-20.

Similarly, officials at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, thwarted an attempt by a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark, to export 103.59 grams of methamphetamine concealed in a packet of herbal coffee tea to the Philippines.

In another operation, 40-year-old Umar Abubakar was detained at Bode Saadu in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, following the discovery of 21,950 capsules of Tramadol 250mg hidden in a 100-litre water heater by officers.

The agency further reported that all the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
