NECO Opens First Examination Centre in London, Expands Global Reach

NECO

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has established a new examination centre in London, United Kingdom, as part of its plans to increase its international footprint.

The new London centre is one of eight worldwide centres opened recently by the Council, with another two in Burkina Faso and Egypt to be launched before the year ends.

The Chief Executive and Registrar of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, while inaugurating the London centre in partnership with Barnfield Education Ltd (BEP Education), explained that the development is a strategic initiative towards expanding access to quality education for Nigerians in the diaspora.

In a press release in Minna, Niger State, the Council’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, said that Prof. Wushishi delivered a keynote speech at the Education Matters Conference UK 2025, put together to sensitize stakeholders in the educational sector on NECO’s growing footprint in the United Kingdom.

He noted that the new centre will provide opportunities for Nigerian students and adult learners resident in the UK who, for a range of reasons, have not had the opportunity to complete secondary education or gain equivalent qualifications.
