Obasanjo and Fayose Clash After Birthday Party: Sowore Calls Them “Two Deputy Devils”

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has shared his thoughts on the explosive confrontation between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose that erupted after Fayose’s birthday celebration.

Taking to X, Sowore didn’t mince words, calling the pair “two deputy devils” while reacting to their war of words.

The drama unfolded after Fayose allegedly told Obasanjo during the event that he “belongs to the zoo”, a statement that has sent shockwaves through Nigerian political circles.

The beef went public when a scathing message from Fayose to Obasanjo was leaked to journalists through Obasanjo’s media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, in Abeokuta.

In the message, Fayose didn’t hold back, slamming the former president for what he called “irresponsible comments” made at his birthday party.

Fayose went further, claiming Obasanjo had lost his mind and referencing past comments about the elder statesman belonging in a zoo.

He also demanded that Obasanjo return money he said he had given him, pointing to Obasanjo’s earlier public acknowledgment of receiving it.

Obasanjo fired back with a short but sharp response.

He said Fayose’s message showed everyone “who and what” the former governor truly is, adding that he remains “unchanged and unchangeable.”

He confirmed the money had already been returned through the same intermediary who delivered it, claiming he never touched it.
