Ohanaeze Youth Movement Says Tinubu Poised for Landslide Win in Rivers After Fubara Joins APC

The Ohanaeze Youth Movement has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now on course for an overwhelming victory in Rivers State in the 2027 general elections, following the defection of Governor Siminalayi Fubara to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued on Sunday by its South-South Coordinator, Emeka Kanu, the group described Governor Fubara’s defection as a landmark political shift that has dramatically altered the balance of power in Rivers State in favour of the ruling party and the President.

According to the group, Fubara’s decision to align with the APC-led Federal Government demonstrates political maturity, patriotism and a genuine commitment to the long-term development and stability of the state.

Kanu said the move has strategically positioned Rivers State to benefit more from President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in critical areas such as infrastructure, economic empowerment, youth development and security.

“With this bold and visionary step, Rivers State is now better placed to enjoy stronger collaboration with the Federal Government and accelerated development across key sectors,” he said.

The Ohanaeze Youth Movement noted that Governor Fubara’s strong grassroots support, combined with the growing acceptance of the APC across Rivers communities, has significantly weakened opposition structures and unified progressive forces in the state.

“This development has given President Tinubu’s popularity in Rivers State a major boost and has practically guaranteed massive support and electoral victory in 2027,” the statement added.

The group also praised President Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style, describing it as a unifying force that continues to attract leaders across party lines who are committed to national unity and good governance.

“The President’s ability to work with people regardless of political affiliation is strengthening democracy and fostering national cohesion,” Kanu said.

Calling on youths in Rivers State to support Governor Fubara and the APC-led Federal Government, the group urged them to embrace the political realignment as a pathway to peace, stability and sustainable development rather than division.

The Ohanaeze Youth Movement reaffirmed its support for the Tinubu administration and pledged to mobilise young people across Rivers State in backing policies and programmes aimed at economic growth, national unity and democratic consolidation.
