PDP Convention Ratifies Expulsion of Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, Others Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at its ongoing elective national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, has formally ratified the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Also expelled were former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, and the suspended National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

Others affected by the decision include former National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN; Senator Mao Ohuabunwa; George Turner; Hon. Umar Bature; Alaba Turnah, and several additional members.

The motion for their expulsion was moved by former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Olabode George, who stated that the affected members had engaged in activities that undermined and threatened the party’s cohesion.

Delegates overwhelmingly approved the motion, a move the party said reflects its renewed commitment to eliminating internal discord and curbing anti-party behaviour that has hindered its unity and progress.
