Foremost researcher and political analyst, Dr. Uche Igwe, has commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for the remarkable improvement in security across the state.
In a statement released in Owerri on Monday, October 27, Dr. Igwe noted a significant decline in insecurity, particularly in rural communities. “I have been visiting several communities across Mbaise in the last few days, and I am impressed at the level of calmness prevailing in our rural areas. Security is gradually returning, and it is clear that the efforts of the Hope Uzodimma administration are yielding fruits,” he said.
He added that with the current level of peace, residents and those in the diaspora could look forward to a safe and enjoyable festive season. “It’s not perfect yet, but people can now sleep with both eyes closed without fear,” he said, stressing the need for continued collaboration between traditional rulers and the state government to sustain the gains.
Dr. Igwe also praised the traditional ruler of Ihitteaforukwu community, His Royal Majesty Eze Dr. O.D. Nwandu, for inaugurating the Royal Guards outfit to maintain peace in his domain.
He described Eze Nwandu as an intelligent and compassionate leader whose foresight and commitment have enhanced security and progress in Ihitteaforukwu.
Calling on other monarchs to emulate such community-driven initiatives, Dr. Igwe urged all lovers of peace in Mbaise and across Imo State to support local efforts that complement government action.
