Relief in Sokoto as Security Forces Take Down Feared Bandit Leader

There was a sense of relief across parts of Isa Local Government Area in Sokoto State after security operatives killed Kachalla Na’Allah, a feared bandit leader linked to repeated attacks on communities in the area.

Na’Allah was shot dead on Friday during a coordinated security operation carried out between Girnashe and Kuka Tara villages in Tsabre Ward. A security source said the operation involved Mobile Police officers, Community Guard members and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, who worked together to confront the bandit and his group.

According to the source, the operation was carefully planned, leading to the successful neutralisation of Na’Allah, who was considered a key figure in bandit networks operating in the state. He was also said to be a cousin of another notorious bandit, Ibrahim Chimmo, believed to be hiding in the Sububu Forest axis.

Security officials described the development as a major blow to bandit groups in the region, noting that removing Na’Allah would weaken their leadership and disrupt their operations.

The incident comes shortly after the army’s 8 Division eliminated another notorious bandit, Kachalla Kallamu, in Sabon Birnin Local Government Area, underscoring ongoing efforts to flush out criminal elements from Sokoto State.

Reacting to the success, the Special Adviser to Governor Ahmad Aliyu on Security Matters, retired Colonel Ahmad Usman, commended the military and other security agencies for their commitment and teamwork. He said the progress being recorded showed that collaboration among security forces was yielding results.

Residents of Isa LGA welcomed the news, saying Na’Allah’s death had eased fears in the area and raised hopes of reduced attacks and improved safety for their communities.
