Arise TV anchor Reuben Abati has come out swinging against FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, branding him the “Omo Onile of the FCT” and the “political bouncer of the APC.”
During Arise TV’s morning show on November 14, Abati didn’t hold back.
He called out Wike for talking about the rule of law while allegedly picking and choosing which court orders to obey, especially when it comes to his controversial building demolitions across Abuja.
“He claims to respect the law, but then takes matters into his own hands despite multiple court rulings on the Abuja Master Plan,” Abati said.
The veteran journalist pointed to Wike’s messy land dispute with Naval Lieutenant A.M. Yerima as a prime example.
That case has reportedly upset top security brass, including the Chief of Defence Staff, Defence Ministers, and even the Inspector-General of Police.
Abati also highlighted Wike’s pattern of clashing with journalists, getting into it with military officers, and generally running things with an iron fist.
He warned that this aggressive style is starting to reflect badly on President Tinubu’s administration.
His message was clear: President Tinubu needs to step in and rein Wike in.
“No public official is above the law,” Abati stressed. “All government appointees must conduct themselves with respect and proper decorum.”
