Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, a renowned Islamic scholar and religious leader, has passed away aged 98 years. A renowned Tijjaniyya cleric, Sheikh Bauchi passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, having been born on June 29, 1927.
Confirming the news of the death, one of his associates, Daha Azhary Bauchi, stated, “Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilaihi raji’un. Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi is gone. May Allah bless us with his blessing.”
Another disciple who confirmed the news is Abubakar Ibrahim Wunti on Thursday morning.
Sheikh Dahiru is remembered as one of the greatest Islamic scholars in Nigeria and the African continent. He dedicated his life spreading the ideologies of Islam, developing education related to the Holy Qur’an, and teaching numerous people the memorization and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
For a long period, he led a vast group of followers and contributed greatly to Islamic studies and spiritual growth.
