Taylor Swift isn’t having it with tabloid gossip claiming she was jealous at Selena Gomez‘s wedding to Benny Blanco.
After reports surfaced that Swift joked about Selena “beating her to the altar”, a supposed dig at her own engagement to Travis Kelce, Taylor went on The Tonight Show to shut it down.
“It was Selena’s moment,” Swift told Jimmy Fallon. “I was there to celebrate her and Benny. There were no engagement jokes, no comments, just love and happiness.”
The rumors started swirling after Selena and Benny’s star-studded Santa Barbara wedding, where Taylor was among the guests. Instead of any drama, Swift had nothing but praise for the newlyweds.
“The wedding was absolutely beautiful, and Selena was the most stunning bride,” she said. Taylor also got nostalgic about their friendship, which goes back to 2008.
“We’ve grown up together through everything. Seeing her this happy means the world to me.”
With one appearance, Taylor made it crystal clear: real friends don’t compete, they show up and celebrate. And she did exactly that for Selena’s big day.
