Mild drama is unfolding in the Nigerian Senate after Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central publicly accused her colleague, Senator Osita Ngwu of Enugu West, of deleting her comments from a WhatsApp group used by Senators.
In a post shared on her verified Facebook page on Sunday, Akpoti-Uduaghan directly called out Ngwu, demanding that he restore her deleted messages on the group.
“Dear Senator Osita Ngwu of Enugu West Senatorial District, you will open responses in the Senators WhatsApp forum and repost my deleted comments. Else I’ll bring the discussion to the public domain,” she wrote.
Her post immediately sparked reactions across social media, with many Nigerians questioning what might have been deleted and what triggered the clash. Although the Senator did not reveal the content of her removed comments, her threat to expose the details publicly suggested deeper disagreements within Senate communication channels.
As at press time, Senator Ngwu had not made any public response to the allegation, and the Senate leadership had also remained silent on the matter.
Political observers say the incident highlights rising tension within the upper chamber and raises concerns about transparency in its internal communication forums.
Both Senators Akpoti-Uduaghan and Ngwu are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), though the nature of their disagreement remains unclear. Whether the issue will escalate into a formal Senate dispute remains uncertain.
