Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has offered $1,000 to a Nigerian Navy officer who refused to let FCT Minister Nyesom Wike access a disputed property in Abuja.
A viral video shows the officer blocking Wike and his team from entering the property.
The officer’s actions have earned praise from many Nigerians who say he displayed professionalism despite facing political pressure.
VDM identified the officer as A.M. Yerima from Kaduna State in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He called Yerima “a true symbol of courage, discipline, and integrity from Northern Nigeria.”
“This is the young Nigerian Navy officer who courageously stood his ground and stopped the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in his tracks, proving that power should never be used to intimidate others,” VDM wrote.
He added that Yerima’s conduct shows that those in authority should lead with humility and respect.
VDM ended his post by saying: “Who knows him should contact me, I have $1000 for him. He’s made us proud.”
The gesture has received positive reactions online, with many Nigerians praising VDM for recognizing the officer’s integrity.
