Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants fellow artist Asake to perform at his wedding.
Wizkid made the disclosure during a recent Apple Music radio appearance with DJ Tunez and Asake. He said Asake’s breakout hit “Omo Ope” instantly turned him into a fan, but “Remember” remains his all-time favourite and the song he wants played on his wedding day.
He praised Asake as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and beyond, describing him as “a blessing to African music.”
“Omo Ope made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is Remember. I think you have to play that one on my wedding day,” Wizkid said, adding that Asake has “one of the most special voices from home and in the world.”
Wizkid is currently in a relationship with his manager and third baby mama, Jada P, and the couple shares three children two boys and a girl. The singer has also been hinting at the possibility of a wedding for some time.
