The immediate past governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has disowned a viral video made by one Joy Sadiq, alias “Real Mama Kogi,” insinuating the collapse of his relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Bello described the claims in the video as false, malicious, and completely detached from reality.
Bello, in a statement personally signed and released in Lokoja on Sunday, said he has no connection with Sadiq beyond her occasional claims of affiliation with the APC in Kogi State. He condemned her actions, stating that she had repeatedly attacked prominent Nigerians in the name of standing up for him.
“The claims she has advanced-particularly those suggesting betrayal, exclusion from government, or involvement with political, financial, or security authorities-are inaccurate, misleading, and not reflective of any reality known to me,” Bello said.
He clarified that Sadiq does not represent him in any capacity and that whatever comments she made had been completely self-generated.
Bello restated his loyalty to President Tinubu and described their relationship as one of respect, understanding, and shared political commitment. He declared that he would stand with him in his re-election bid in 2027 and rejected any attempt to distort the true nature of their relationship. Meanwhile, Kogi State governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has reportedly ordered the arrest of Sadiq over the viral video. A close source confirmed that she is currently providing information to security agencies to determine where her content originated from.
