The Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade and Land Component Commander, Operation Udoka, Brigadier General Ibrahim Mu’azu Abbas, has decorated 315 soldiers newly promoted within the brigade in Obinze, Owerri, Imo State. The development was disclosed in a statement by the new Brigade spokesperson, Major Hashimu Sa’ad Abdullahi.
During the ceremony held at the brigade parade ground, the soldiers were elevated across various ranks, including Lance Corporal to Corporal, Corporal to Sergeant, Sergeant to Staff Sergeant, and Staff Sergeant to Warrant Officer.
Brig.-Gen. Abbas noted that the promotions reflected the commitment of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, to reward professionalism, dedication, and excellence. He told the troops that their elevation was part of efforts to strengthen the Army’s operational readiness and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He added that the promotions were not only acknowledgments of personal merit but also strategic steps to boost operational capability, especially in the ongoing Operation Udoka.
The Commander encouraged the personnel to remain focused and loyal, reminding them that higher ranks come with heightened responsibilities. He also charged them to intensify their efforts toward sustaining the 82 Division’s mission of restoring peace and security across the South-East.
