Abia State Governor Alex Otti has given nine outstanding young graduates an incredible gift – automatic employment with the state government.
The lucky recipients? Nine Abia indigenes who recently bagged the coveted NYSC Presidential Honour Awards during their national service year.
Governor Otti welcomed the award winners at the Government House in Umuahia on Tuesday, with NYSC State Coordinator Mrs. Gladys Adama joining the celebration.
The atmosphere was one of pride and excitement as the governor announced his decision to lift the employment embargo specifically for these exceptional young people.
“You’re leaving here with more than just a token of appreciation,” Otti told the beaming graduates.
“I’m temporarily lifting our employment embargo to offer jobs to all nine of you – unless anyone here isn’t interested, of course!”
The governor didn’t waste time with bureaucracy either.
He immediately instructed the State Head of Service to prepare their appointment letters, emphasizing that their national recognition already proved they had what it takes.
The new government employees are:
– Nwogu Chinonso (Obingwa LGA)
– Anyanwu Promise
– Ezieme Uba
– Emmanuel Ezinne
– Abia Grace
– Nwafike Chiemela
– Ugwa Mark
– Eke Miracle
– James Chukwuebuka
Chinonso, who served in Zamfara State, spoke for the group with obvious emotion, calling Governor Otti “a true leader and the Joshua of our time.”
He promised that all nine would serve Abia State with unwavering commitment and loyalty.
Governor Otti made it clear that he wants to inspire other young people across the state to pursue excellence wherever they find themselves.
“Continue being role models in your careers,” the governor urged his new appointees. “This administration will always support excellence and hard work.”
