Popular Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has launched a scathing attack on social media personality Verydarkman, claiming he paid someone ₦2 million to create a fraudulent AI voice recording of radio host Nedu Wazobia. The controversy stems from a recent incident where Verydarkman publicly played an audio recording allegedly featuring Nedu’s voice.
In the recording, the voice can be heard boasting about connections to friends involved in internet fraud (commonly known as “Yahoo”) and drug-related activities. The situation escalated when Verydarkman took the extraordinary step of submitting formal petitions regarding the matter to three different embassies.
Nedu Wazobia has categorically denied the allegations, insisting he never made such statements and distancing himself from any criminal activities implied in the recording. Taking to Instagram to defend Nedu, Maduagwu didn’t hold back in his accusations against Verydarkman.
“So you paid someone ₦2M to do AI video about Nedu just because you want to damage his image,” he wrote, suggesting the entire scandal was manufactured for attention.
Maduagwu continued his rant with personal attacks: “Now it shows that your mama no train you well… Why are you doing this? All because of clout, you want to chase clout.”
The actor even referenced former President Buhari’s controversial statement about Nigerian youth, adding: “When Buhari talk say Nigerian youths are lazy, na now I believe.”
