Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dispatched a high-level government delegation to Akinlalu community following the recent killings linked to the Amotekun security outfit.
In a press release by his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, the governor was devastated by the loss of lives and sympathized with the families of those affected, praying for God’s comfort in their hour of grief.
Governor Adeleke disclosed that after receiving a preliminary security report from his Special Adviser on Security Matters, further briefings were given to the Deputy Governor. He went on that a meeting of the State Security Council is scheduled for Monday to address the Akinlalu incident and other emerging threats, including fears of banditry spillover from Kwara State.
Pledging to unravel the circumstances surrounding the fatal clash, Adeleke directed a government delegation made up of major commissioners, advisers, and the service chiefs to report to Akinlalu after the security council meeting.
“I’m a governor of rule of law. The matter is being investigated and any infraction will be dealt with within the provisions of the law. I want to appeal to the good people of Akinlalu to kindly remain calm while our administration is taking action on the matter. I sympathize with them, but investigation is ongoing,” Adeleke said.
