Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to security agencies in the state to remain neutral and professional as political activities heat up, stressing that Osun home to President Bola Tinubu must not be dragged into unnecessary conflict.
The governor made the appeal on Thursday during the decoration ceremony of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), DSP Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, who had just been promoted. The event, held at the Government House in Osogbo, was attended by top security chiefs, including the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan; NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Igbalawole Sotiyo; and FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Leye Adegboyega.
Adeleke praised the police for their discipline and professionalism, commending the Inspector General of Police and the Osun Command for their efforts in keeping the state peaceful. He particularly applauded CP Gotan’s leadership, which he said has fostered calm and order.
“Osun is the home state of Mr. President, and Mr. President belongs to all of us,” Adeleke said. “This state must never become a battleground. Security agencies must stay above politics and ensure a level playing field for everyone.”
Turning to his ADC, the governor expressed pride in Abdulraman’s promotion, describing him as a loyal and disciplined officer who reflects the very best of the police. “I am happy today over the promotion of my ADC. He is a good representative of the police and an example to others,” Adeleke said warmly.
In his goodwill message, CP Gotan congratulated Abdulraman but reminded him that promotions come with greater responsibility. He pledged that the police in Osun would continue to uphold fairness, human rights, and the rule of law while working with other agencies to maintain peace.
He also encouraged officers across the state to emulate Abdulraman’s dedication, describing him as a role model within the Force.
