Ado-Ekiti Woman Remanded in Prison for Allegedly Pouring Hot Oil on Man

A 27-year-old Nigerian woman is now behind bars after allegedly pouring hot oil on a man in Ado-Ekiti, leaving him with serious burns.

According to Linda Ikeji Blog, Ajirotutu Bosede appeared before Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, where she faces charges of causing grievous harm following the October 3 incident.

Prosecutor Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi told the court that Bosede attacked Emmanuel Ogunleye around noon at Matthew Street in Ado-Ekiti, pouring hot red oil on him.

The victim suffered severe burns and life-threatening injuries from the attack.

The prosecutor added that her actions also threatened to disrupt peace in the community.

Bosede’s lawyer, Barrister Adedayo Awe, asked the court to grant his client bail, but Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun denied the request.

He ordered that she remain at the Correctional Centre until the next hearing.

The case has been adjourned to November 21, 2025.
