Nigeria’s D’Tigers gave a commanding performance on Friday, routing defending champions Tunisia 87–66 in their second Group B game at the FIBA AfroBasket 2025.
The Nigerians asserted their dominance early, opening up a 29–16 first quarter and then adding to it to take a 48–33 half-time lead. At the end of the third quarter, they had built up a 68–47 lead, leaving Tunisia little chance of recovery.
Josh Okogie spearheaded Nigeria’s victory with a performance of a lifetime, scoring 33 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Caleb Agada added nine points, while Tunisia’s struggle was spearheaded by Omar Abada (15 points) and Yacine Toumi (13 points).
The emphatic win not only gets Nigeria’s campaign back on track but also results in a decisive Group B clash with Cameroon on Sunday, which will determine the group leader and a potential favorable quarterfinal draw.
