Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is fit enough to return as the Gunners prepare to face Fulham in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Saka, who underwent surgery for a hamstring injury in December, has been out for a while but is now available. The 23-year-old tore a muscle in his right leg during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
Arsenal have been affected by injuries this term, with key players Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus all having significant game time missing. However, Arteta revealed that defender Riccardo Calafiori will miss “a matter of weeks” after picking up an injury playing on international duty with Italy.
Saka’s return is a great morale booster for Arsenal as they continue their hunt for silverware, particularly in the Champions League, where they entertain reigning title holders Real Madrid in the quarterfinal first leg on April 8.
The north London outfit are currently second in the Premier League, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool.
