The countdown to the Ballon d’Or 2025 has officially begun. Organisers of the Ballon d’Or have revealed the three criteria that will determine this year’s winners, while also confirming the full list of nominees for both the men’s and women’s awards.
The selection will be based on:
- Individual performances – with emphasis on decisive, standout displays across the season.
- Team achievements – rewarding players who drove their club or country to major successes.
- Class and fair play – highlighting footballers who embody respect, professionalism, and the spirit of the game.
- The ceremony will be held in Paris on Monday, September 22, with UEFA co-organising the event.
