Suspected armed bandits have killed the Chairman of Miyetti Allah in Katsina State, Surajo Rufai, during a violent attack on Mairana village in Kusada Local Government Area on January 4, 2025. The tragic incident has plunged the community into mourning. The attackers stormed Rufai’s residence, fatally shooting him and abducting his wife and daughter. Despite swift intervention by law enforcement, the bandits managed to escape after a confrontation.
According to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Sadiq Abubakar, a police team led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kusada pursued the bandits to nearby Kofa village, engaging them in a fierce gun battle. Overwhelmed by police firepower, the assailants fled but killed two more individuals during their retreat.
The Police assured the public of intensified efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice, emphasizing their commitment to restoring security in the area.
