Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Sultana, has opened up on her personal experience of embracing Islam, despite being raised in a household that had both Christian and Islamic influences.
During a conversation with fellow housemate Zita, the 25-year-old model disclosed that deciding to practice Islam was a personal decision and based on how she was raised.
When asked if her parents were practicing Muslims, Sultana replied, “No, I was going to both mosque and church when I was growing up. My mother is Christian. Somewhere along the way, I did get baptized in the Catholic Church my baptismal name is Josephine. I just made a choice to follow the religion that best fit me, which happens to be Islam.”
Sultana revealed that her father is a Muslim from Adamawa State, while her mother is a Christian from Cross River State. She practiced Catholicism at one time, but explained that Islam resonated more with her ultimately, and she proceeded to accept it fully.
