A fiery exchange has broken out between Elon Musk and Billie Eilish after the pop star challenged the billionaire over how he uses his fortune.
The 22-year-old Grammy winner took to Instagram last week, responding to news that Musk’s latest Tesla pay package could make him the world’s first trillionaire.
In her posts, Eilish questioned why someone with that kind of money wasn’t doing more to fight hunger, save endangered species, or help war-torn communities.
Her message was clear: he has the means but “chooses not to.”
Musk didn’t stay quiet. The Tesla and SpaceX boss fired back on X, posting a screenshot of her comments with a dismissive reply: “She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.”
This isn’t the first time Eilish has spoken out about extreme wealth.
At last month’s WSJ Innovator Awards, where tech giants like Mark Zuckerberg were present, she openly asked why billionaires should even exist, saying no one needs that much money.
But Eilish has recently committed over $11 million from her current tour to environmental and humanitarian causes.
